Editorial Policy
Last reviewed: May 2026
Our editorial purpose
GreenFeeTracker exists to give golfers accurate, unbiased pricing information so they can make informed decisions before booking a round. Our primary obligation is to the golfer reading the page — not to golf courses, booking platforms, or affiliate partners. Every editorial decision is made with that obligation in mind.
What we publish
We publish:
- Verified green fee pricing for public and semi-private golf courses
- Course amenity and facility information drawn from published sources
- Golf market comparisons based on aggregated pricing data
- Educational content about green fee pricing, how to save, and what rates to expect by market
- Course and market guides intended to help golfers choose where to play
We do not publish:
- Paid placement or sponsored course listings (all listings are treated equally regardless of commercial relationship)
- Fabricated or estimated pricing — all rates are sourced or verified
- Unverified player reviews
- Promotional content presented as editorial content
Editorial independence
Commercial relationships do not influence editorial content. Specifically:
Course listings
Courses are listed because they are public or semi-private courses with verifiable pricing — not because they have a commercial relationship with GreenFeeTracker. Courses cannot pay for preferential placement, ranking, or treatment in our database.
Affiliate links
We include affiliate links to golf equipment on some pages. These links are clearly labeled and do not influence how we cover, rank, or present any golf course or market. Affiliate relationships are disclosed in full on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
Claimed listings
Golf courses that claim their listing gain the ability to submit rate corrections and update contact information. This does not give them any control over editorial content, rankings, or how their course appears in comparisons.
Accuracy standards
We apply the following standards to all content:
- Pricing data is sourced, not estimated. If we cannot verify a rate, we say so rather than publish a number we cannot support.
- Comparative claims ("cheapest", "lowest", "best value") are supported by the data on the page at the time of publication and are clearly scoped to the courses and market in our database — not a claim about all courses everywhere.
- We do not claim courses are "the best" based on commercial relationships. Any quality-oriented label (best value, highest-rated) is derived from verifiable data: green fee pricing and Google ratings.
- We distinguish clearly between verified rates and rates that may be outdated, using confidence tier labels on each course page.
Corrections and updates
When pricing data is incorrect, we correct it promptly. We do not delete old content to hide errors; we update it. For our full correction handling process, see our Correction Policy.
